Premiering on Thursday, February 19, is the HBO original documentary Murder in Glitterball City directed by Fenton Bailey & Randy Barbato and inspired by the non-fiction book A Dark Room in Glitter Ball City by David Dominé. David Benjamin Steinberg (Liberty: Mother of Exiles, Every Brilliant Thing, Small Town News: KPVM Pahrump, Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures).has composed the show’s original music. The 2-parter, which chronicles a 2010 murder case that starts with a 911 phone call that leads police to the gruesome discovery of a body buried in the basement of a Victorian mansion, will air on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
Premiering on Friday, February 20, is the Netflix original animated series Strip Law created by Cullen Crawford and starring Adam Scott, Janelle James,Shannon Gisela, Stephen Root and Keith David . The show’s original music is composed by Casey Trela, Jeff Kirchner and Max Schad. The adult animated comedy, which follows an uptight lawyer who teams with a flashy Las Vegas magician to bring some pizzazz to the city’s stupidest cases, will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
Also premiering on Friday is the Spanish Netflix original film Firebreak (Cortafuego) co-written and directed by David Victori and starring Belén Cuesta, Enric Auquer, Joaquín Furriel and Diana Gómez. Federico Jusid (A Gentleman in Moscow, The Secret in Their Eyes, The English, The Night Manager, A Thousand Blows, The Penguin Lessons, The Head, Life Itself) has composed the movie’s original music. Also premiering in the U.S. on Friday is the French action thriller The Orphans co-written and directed by Olivier Schneider and starring Alban Lenoir, Dali Benssalah, Anouk Grinberg, Sonia Faidi, Romain Levi and Suzanne Clément. The film’s original music is composed by Julien Grunberg & Paul-Marie Barbier (Restless, The Cage, Fantasies, Fiasco, Medellin, La Fièvre, Ibiza). Gaumont has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score last summer when the movie opened in French theaters.
