Nick Cave & Warren Ellis (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, The Road, Hell or High Water, Dahmer: Monster – The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Blonde, The Proposition, Lawless) are scoring the upcoming Norwegian Netflix original series Jo Nesbo’s Detective Hole (Jo Nesbøs Harry Hole). This show is created by Jo Nesbø based on his global bestselling crime novels and stars Tobias Santelmann, Joel Kinnaman, Pia Tjelta, Ellen Helinder, Maxime Baune Bochud, Anders Baasmo, Kåre Conradi, Simon J. Berger and Peter Stormare. The thriller directed by Øystein Karlsen (Whitstable Pearl, So Long, Marianne) and Anna Zackrisson follows the titular brilliant detective as he hunts killers while fighting his own demons. Nesbø & Karlsen are also executive producing the Working Title production with Tim Bevan & Eric Fellner (Atonement, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), Amelia Granger (Everything I Know About Love), Katy Rozelle, Rene Ezra (Queen of Hearts, Faithless) and Niclas Salomonsson (Top Dog, The Helicopter Heist). Jo Nesbo’s Detective Hole will premiere on March 26, 2026 exclusively on Netflix.
Cave’s & Ellis’ other recent projects include Sky’s The Death of Bunny Munro, which premiered in the UK last fall on Sky and is currently awaiting a U.S. release. Ellis has also co-scored Vincent Munier’s hit documentary Whispers in the Woods, which opened in French theaters last month.
