In a Circle Records will release a soundtrack album for the PBS documentary series The American Revolution. The album features the music from the show, including period and newly composed pieces for the project featuring performances by Rhiannon Giddens, Jake Blount, Brooklyn Rider, Nora Brown & Steph Coleman, Hanneke Cassel, Jennifer Kreisberg and Yo-Yo Ma. The soundtrack will be released digitally and on CD this Friday, November 7 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The American Revolution is directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein & David Schmidt and explores the country’s founding struggle and its eight-year War for Independence. The 6-parter is being released to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the start of the war, which began in the spring of 1775, more than a year before the Declaration of Independence.The series will premiere between November 16-21 over three consecutive nights on PBS.
