Jason Lazarus (Skull IslandAre You Afraid of the Dark?, The Gates, Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans) and Joseph Trapanese (OblivionThe Greatest Showman, The WitcherShadow and BoneBrilliant Minds, Straight Outta Compton, G20, The Raid: Redemption) have teamed up to score the upcoming horror thriller The Ritual. The film is directed by David Midell (The Killing of David Chamberlain) and stars Al Pacino, Dan Stevens, Ashley Greene, Abigail Cowen and Patricia Heaton. The movie based on real events follows two priests who are divided by doubt when the Church sanctions the exorcism of a woman and must confront a force beyond comprehension…and their own faith. Midell also co-wrote the screenplay with Enrico Natale (Catalyst). Natale is also producing the project with Ross Marks (Walking with Herb), Andrew Stevens (3000 Miles to Graceland, Half Past Dead) and Mitchell Welch (Fast Charlie, Mindcage). The Ritual will be released in theaters nationwide on June 6 by XYZ Films.

Trapanese also continues to score Netflix’s The Witcher, which will return for its fourth season this year.
