Singer/songwriter and composer Matt Johnson (of the rock band The The) is reteaming with director Gerard Johnson on the upcoming British crime thriller Odyssey. The film starring Polly Maberly, Mikael Persbrandt, Jasmine Blackborow, Guy Burnet, Charley Palmer Rothwell, Ryan Hayes & Kellie Shirley follows a sharp-tongued London estate agent who gets dragged into the city’s seedy underworld when a group of loan sharks approach her offering cash to hide a kidnapped fellow estate agentt. Johnson also cowrote the screenplay with Austin Collings. John Jencks (The Crow, Jackie & Ryan), Isabel Freer, Matthew James Wilkinson (Yesterday, Amulet), Patrick Tolan (Daddy’s Head, T. I.M.) are producing the project. Matt Johnson has previously scored his brother Gerard’s features Tony, Hyena and Muscle. Odysssey will premiere this month at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival.
