Bryce Dessner (of The National) (Sing Sing, We Live in Time, The Two Popes, Cyrano, Bardo, A Good Person, Manhunt, She Came to Me, Widow Cliquot) has composed the original score for the upcoming action thriller The Accountant 2. The film is directed by Gavin O’Connor (Miracle, Warrior) and stars Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Allison Robertson, Daniella Pineda and J.K. Simmons. The sequel follows Christian Wolff as he applies his brilliant mind and less-than-legal methods to solve the murder of an old acquaintance and recruits his estranged and highly lethal brother to help. Bill Dubuque (Ozark, The Judge) wrote the screenplay. Affleck is also producing the Artists Equity production with Lynette Howell Taylor (A Star Is Born, Captain Fantastic) and Mark Williams (Honest Thief, Blacklight). Mark Isham has previously scored the original 2016 movie. The Accountant 2 will premiere this Saturday at the SXSW Film Festival and is set to be released in theaters nationwide on April 25 by Amazon MGM Studios.
Dessner’s other recent projects include Clint Bentley’s Train Dreams, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and has been picked up by Netflix for a release later this year.
