Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1991 psychological thriller Cape Fear directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert De Niro, Nick Nolte, Jessica Lange, Joe Don Baker, Juliette Lewis, Robert Mitchum and Gregory Peack. The album features the film’s newly remastered and expanded original score composed by Bernard Herrmann (originally written for the 1962 feature of the same title) adapted, arranged and conducted by Elmer Bernstein (The Magnificent Seven, To Kill a Mockingbird, Ghostbusters, The Age of Innocence, Airplane, Far from Heaven), including around 15 minutes of previously unreleased music, as well as alternate cues. The 2-CD set is now available to order on Amazon and the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and find out more about the release. MCA Records has previously released the original 1991 soundtrack album. Cape Fear is now available on VOD, Blu ray and DVD.
