This past week, Son Lux (Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby) have been recording their score for Marvel Studios’ upcoming feature Thunderbolts*. The film is directed by Jake Schreier (Beef, Robot & Frank) and stars Florence Pugh who reprises her role of Yelena Belova from Black Widow, as well as Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Olga Kurylenko, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Kevin Feige (Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther) is producing the project. The composers who previously collaborated with Schreier on 2015’s Paper Towns have been recording their music at Abbey Road Studios in London. Thunderbolts* will be released in theaters nationwide on May 2, 2025 by Walt Disney Pictures.

  2. HansZimmer’sAssistant’sGhostwriter says:

Well that’s a curveball. I’ll have to go check out their other stuff. Cool to have some more new blood in marvel music, hope they keep some old themes tho

  3. Mike says:

Are they replacing Lorne Balfe or was that story not true?

  4. SOME DEWD says:

Considering that Yelena and Red Guardian are two of it’s most central figures, I was expecting Lorne Balfe to do the score. Pretty disappointed about this, but at the same time, I can’t say I’m surprised either. The MCU is hardly (if ever) thematically consistent with it’s music

  5. Marco says:

That’s an interesting choice, for sure.
