Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the animated feature Dog Man written and directed by Peter Hastings and starring Pete Davidson, Lil Rel Howery, Poppy Liu,  Isla Fisher, Ricky Gervais, Stephen Root and Billy Boyd. The film’s original music is composed by Tom Howe (Ted Lasso, ShrinkingKnucklesEarly Man, Daisy Jones & the SixA Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, Book Club: The New Chapter). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as a song by Yung Gravy feat. James Brown today. Also opening wide is the sci-fi/horror movie Companion written and directed by Drew Hancock and starring Sophie Thatcher, Jack Quaid, Lukas Gage, Harvey Guillén, Megan Suri and Rupert Friend. Hrishikesh Hirway (Everything Sucks!Save the Date) has composed the film’s original music, including a main theme performed by Thatcher. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last Friday. Also opening nationwide is the military action thriller Valiant One co-written and directed by Steve Barnett and starring Chase Stokes, Lana Condor, Desmin Borges, Callan Mulvey, Daniel Jun, Jonathan Whitesell, Dina Tsoy, Jerina Son, Leo Chiang and Ronald Patrick Thompson. The film’s original music is composed by Benjamin Backus (Homestead, A Week Away). No word on a soundtrack release. Opening semi-wide in around 500 theaters is the sci- fi drama Love Me written and directed by Sam & Andy Zuchero and starring Kristen Stewart and Steven Yeun. Singer/songwriter David Longstreth (of the indie rock band Dirty Projectors) (The Legend of Ochi) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been released. Already playing in select U.S. theaters since this past Wednesday is the Chinese fantasy drama Creation of the Gods II: Demon Force  directed by Wuershan and starring Bo Huang, Kris Phillips, Shi Yu, Naernax, Muchi Chen, Narana Erdyneeva, Nashi and Xuejian Li. The film’s original music is composed by Gordy Haab (Star Wars: Jedi Survivor/Fallen Order, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Star Wars: BattlefrontHalo Wars 2) who previously scored the first part of the Feng Sheng Trilogy, Kingdom of Storms. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. The movie is being distributed stateside by Well Go USA Entertainment.
