Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the French horror comedy The Balconettes (Les femmes au balcon). The album features the film’s original music composed by Uèle Lamore (The Apology, Above Water, Riposte féministe). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s Denise’s Theme below. The Balconettes is co-written (with Céline Sciamma) and directed by Noémie Merlant and stars Souheila Yacoub, Sanda Codreanu, Merlant herself and Lucas Bravo. The movie takes place during a heatwave in Marseille as they gleefully meddle in the lives of their neighbors from their balcony, until a late night drink turns into a bloody affair. The comedy premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and just opened in French theaters yesterday. No word yet on a domestic release.
