Dream Studio will release a soundtrack album for the Chinese drama Black Dog (Gou Zhen). The album features the film’s original music composed by Breton Vivian (Yellowstone, Five Feet Apart, 1883, 1923, Redeeming Love). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 30 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s title track below. Black Dog is co-written and directed by Guan Hu and stars Eddie Peng and Jia Zhang-ke. The movie is set on the edge of the Gobi desert in Northwest China and follows a man who returns to his hometown after being released from jail and – while working for the local dog patrol team to clear the town of stray dogs before the Olympics, strikes up an unlikely connection with a black dog. The drama, which premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, opened in Chinese theaters this past June, in other international markets over the last couple of weeks, and will arrive in select U.S. theaters on November 22.
