Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, The Equalizer 3, Emancipation, May December, The Affair, The Good Shepherd, Ray Donovan) is the new composer of the Netflix original series The Diplomat. He has scored the second season of the show created by Debora Cahn and stars Keri Russell, Rufus Sewell, David Gyasi, Rory Kinnear, Ali Ahn, Ato Essandoh, Celia Imrie, Nana Mensah, Michael McKean and Miguel Sandoval. The new season of the political drama follows U.S. diplomat Kate Wyler as she faces the ultimate test when a London bombing shatters her world and she faces the ultimate test as her suspicions reach the top levels of the British government. Cahn (Homeland) & Russell are also executive producing the project with Janice Williams (The Magicians, Trumbo), Peter Noah (Designated Survivor, Tyrant) and Alex Graves (The West Wing, Lost in Space). Nathan Barr & Dimitri Smith have previously scored last year’s first season. Season 2 of The Diplomat will premiere on October 31, 2024 on Netflix.
Zarvos’ other recent projects include Stephen Chbosky’s Nonnas, which has recently been picked up by Netflix for a premiere in 2025.
