Murray Gold (Doctor Who, Torchwood, Gentleman Jack, Dead Ringers, A Very English Scandal, It’s a Sin, Quiz) is returning to score the new PBS Masterpiece/BBC drama Moonflower Murders. The sequel to 2022’s Magpie Murders (scored by Gold) is written by Anthony Horowitz (Alex Rider, New Blood) based on his own bestselling novel of the same title and stars Lesley Manville & Timothy McMullan who reprise their roles of Susan Ryeland & Atticus Pünd from the original series, as well as Mark Gatiss, Rosalie Craig, Daniel Mays, Claire Rushbrook, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Conleth Hill, Matthew Beard, Adrian Rawlins and Sanjeev Kohli. The 6-parter is directed by Rebecca Gatward, produced by Suzanne McAuley (Innocent) and executive produced by Jill Green (The American, Safe House) for Eleventh Hour Films. Moonflower Murders will premiere in the U.S. this coming Sunday, September 15 on PBS and in the UK later this year on BBC One.
Gold also continues to score BBC’s & Disney+’s Doctor Who, which will return for its fifteenth season in 2025.
