Will Bates (Dumb Money, The Magicians, Immaculate, Unbelievable, I Origins, Away, The PathThe Looming Tower, Bliss) is scoring the upcoming documentary The Bibi Files. The film is directed by Alexis Bloom and tells the backstory behind Israeli prime minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu’s ongoing corruption trial and how it is informing his current actions. The movie features never-before-seen leaked footage and new interviews with key Israeli figures, including Netanyahu’s former spokesman Nir Hefetz,f ormer prime minister Ehud Olmert and former Shin Bet leader Ami Ayalon. Bloom is also producing the project with Alex Gibney (Enron: The Smartest Guys in the RoomTaxi to the Dark Side), investigative journalist Raviv Drucker, Kara Elverson (Get Me Roger Stone) and David Rahtz (In Restless Dreams: The Music of Paul Simon). Bates has previously scored Bloom’s first three features, Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, Divide and Conquer: The Story of Roger Ailes & Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg and collaborated with Gibney on numerous projects, including We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks, Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief and Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine. The Bibi Files is screening this week in a “work in progress” version at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.

Bates also continues to score AMC’s Mayfair Witches, which will return for a second season in early 2025.
