David Fleming has received his first Primetime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special (Original Dramatic Score) category for his score for Ron Howard’s Disney+ original documentary Jim Henson Idea Man at today’s first night of the 76th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. He is also up for an Emmy this year in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score) category for his Mr. & Mrs. Smith score. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s Jim Henson score this past May. The other nominees in the category were Laura Karpman for Rock Hudson: All That Heaven Allowed, Anže Rozman & Camilo Forero for Beckham, Marc Shaiman for Albert Brooks: Defending My Life and Jacob Shea, Sara Barone & Hans Zimmer for Planet Earth III.
In the Outstanding Music Direction category, Rickey Minor was the winner for this year’s Oscars ceremony. The winners of the other music categories will be announced tomorrow.
