Varèse Sarabande and Craft Recordings have announced the first-ever vinyl release of the score for the 1999 supernatural horror movie The Haunting directed by Jan de Bont and starring Liam Neeson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Owen Wilson and Lili Taylor. The 2-LP deluxe edition features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Chinatown, Planet of the Apes, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, Patton, Basic Instinct) and will be available on a pressed on a Black/Gold/Grey Marble vinyl in North America and n Translucent Green vinyl, with brand-new artwork. Both editions are packaged in a gatefold jacket, featuring brand-new cover illustrations from artist Sina Grace, liner notes and stills from the film. The soundtrack will be released on October 4 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released the original soundtrack album back in 1999 and a deluxe edition featuring previously unreleased music (and the same content as the vinyl edition) in 2017. The Haunting is now available on VOD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD.
