Marcus Norris (Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul.) has provided the original score for the upcoming Apple TV+ limited series Lady in the Lake. Grammy Award-nominated music producer Bekon (who scored last year’s Netflix film You People) has composed and produced the live performances of the show created by Alma Har’el (Honey Boy) and starring Natalie Portman, Moses Ingram, Y’lan Noel, Brett Gelman, Noah Jupe, Byron Bowers, Josiah Cross, Mikey Madison and Pruitt Taylor Vince. The 7-part thriller is based on the 2019 novel of the same title by Laura Lippman and follows two women whose lives converge on a fatal collision course after he disappearance of a young girl grips the city of Baltimore on Thanksgiving 1966. Har’el, Portman & Lippman are also executive producing the project with Christopher Leggett (Ask Dr. Ruth, Mike Wallace Is Here), Sophie Mas (May December), Crazyrose’s Nathan Ross (Big Little Lies, Sharp Objects), Bad Wolf America’s Julie Gardner (His Dark Materials, A Discovery of Witches) for  as well as Layne Eskridge (Manhunt, She’s Gotta Have It), Amy Kaufman (Lulu on the Bridge, Invasion) and Boaz Yakin (Fresh, Remember the Titans). Late director Jean-Marc Vallée (Wild, Dallas Buyers Club) also serves as an executive producer. Lady in the Lake will premiere on July 19, 2024 exclusively on Apple TV+.

Norris’ other recents scoring projects include Nicki Micheaux’s Summer of Violence, which premiered at various film festivals last year and has recently been picked up by Quiver Distribution for a theatrical release in the U.S. on August 23.
