Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare in Love, Proof, Billy Elliott, Quills, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin) is attached to score the upcoming animated short Wittgenstein’s Poker. The film will be directed by Christian De Vita and star Richard E. Grant and Brian Cox. The movie based on the book of the same title by David Edmonds &John Eidinow tells the story of the real-life encounter between Ludwig Wittgenstein and Karl Popper, two of the 20th century’s greatest philosophers, and explores their notorious dispute, known as the Cambridge Poker Incident. Casey Cohen wrote the screenplay and is also producing the project.A Kickstarter campaign for Wittgenstein’s Poker is being launched today. (Deadline)
Warbeck’s other recent projects include Maïwenn’s Jeanne du Barry, which was released in France and other international markets last year and is opening in U.S. theaters this Thursday, May 2.
