Cian Ciarán Scoring BBC’s ‘The Way’

Cian Ciarán (of the Welsh rock band Super Furry Animals) is the composer of the new BBC drama The Way. The show is created by actor Michael Sheen, James Graham (Quiz, Sherwood), Adam Curtis (The Power of Nightmares, The Living Dead), developed by Bethan Jones (Sherlock, Les Miserables) and stars Steffan Rhodri, Mali Harries, Sophie Melville, Callum Scott Howell, Sheen himself, Maja Laskowska, Luke Evans, Tom Cullen, Mark Lewis Jones, Danny Sapani, Paul Rhys, Aneurin Barnard, Erin Richards, Catherine Ayers, Patrick Baladi, Jonathan Nefydd, Georgia Tennant, Matthew Aubrey and Teilo James Le Masurier. The 3-part series revolves around a family caught up in a civil uprising which begins in their small industrial town who are forced to escape the country they’ve always called home and the certainties of their old lives. Sheen (who is also making his directorial debut on the project), Graham, Curtis and Jones are also executive producing the Red Seam production with Rebecca Ferguson (Doctor Who, Boiling Point) for the BBC and Nick Andrews (Men Up) for BBC Cymru Wales. Ciarán has previously scored the 2013 documentary Gerralt, the Sky Arts film Gifted and the 2010 S4C series Pen Talar, among other projects. The Way will premiere in the UK tonight on BBC One and will also be available to stream on the BBCiPlayer.
