Variety has confirmed that Thomas Newman (American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo, Skyfall, 1917) has composed the theme for upcoming FX limited series Feud: Capote vs. The Swans. It has previously been revealed that the Academy Award-nominated composer’s daughter Julia Newman is scoring the show written by Jon Robin Baitz (Brothers & Sisters, Stonewall) based on the book Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era by Laurence Leamer and starring Tom Hollander (as Truman Capote), Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny, Calista Flockhart, Demi Moore, Molly Ringwald, Treat Williams, Joe Mantello and Russell Tovey. Baitz is also executive producing the 20th Television production with Ryan Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story), Alexis Martin Woodall (American Crime Story, Halston), Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Milk), Dede Gardner & Jeremy Kleiner (12 Years a Slave, Moonlight), Watts, Eric Kovtun (The Watcher, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story) and Scott Robertson (Blonde, The Andy Warhol Diaries). Newman has recently made her feature film scoring debut on this year’s At the Gates. Feud: Capote vs. The Swans will premiere on January 31, 2024 on FX and will also be available to stream on Hulu. A soundtrack album for the show will be released by Hollywood Records.
