Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1993 action thriller Cliffhanger directed by Renny Harlin and starring Sylvester Stallone, John Lithgow, Michael Rooker & Janine Turner featuring music composed by Trevor Jones (The Dark Crystal, The Last of the Mohicans, Merlin, Labyrinth, Mississippi Burning, Dark City, Excalibur). The album, which is being released to coincide with the movie’s 30th anniversary, features the same content as the (sold out) expanded 2017 soundtrack released by La-La Land Records. The 2-CD set, which is limited to 1,000 copies, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to audio samples. The label has also announced the premiere vinyl release of the title featuring selections of Jones’ score. Click here to order the 2-LP set and to check out the full album details. Cliffhanger is now available on VOD and has just been released on a new 30th Anniversary Steelbook 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray edition earlier this year.
The label has also announced a new “50th Anniversary” remastered edition of the soundtrack album for the 1973 British horror comedy Theatre of Blood directed by Douglas Hickox and starring Vincent Price and Diana Rigg. The album featuring music composed by Michael J. Lewis (Sphinx, The Medusa Touch, The Naked Face) is now available as a CD version (limited to 1,000 copies) and world premiere LP edition (limited to 500 copies)
