Sony Classical has released the first track from the score album for the movie adaptation of Susan Collins’ The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is Mercy written by the film’s composer James Newton Howard (King Kong, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Signs, The Sixth Sense, The Fugitive, Maleficent). Also listen to the full track below. As previously reported, the score album will be released digitally and physically on November 17. A separate soundtrack featuring the songs from (and inspired by) the movie will be coming out on the same day. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is directed by Francis Lawrence and stars Tom Blyth, Rachel Zegler, Hunter Schafer, Peter Dinklage, Josh Andrés Rivera, Jason Schwartzman and Viola Davis. The prequel will be released in theaters nationwide on November 17 by Lionsgate.
