Netflix Music has released the official soundtrack album for the streamer’s original film Rustin. The album features the movie’s original score written by Grammy Award-winning saxophonist/composer Branford Marsalis (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks). Also included songs performed by Victor Ryan Robertson, Tonya Boyd-Cannon, as well as Ledisi’s The Knowing (co-written by Marsalis), which has previously been released last week. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Click here to check out the project’s music team credits. Available separately as a digital single is Lenny Kravitz’s original end credits song Road to Freedom. Rustin is directed by George C. Wolfe and stars Colman Domingo, Chris Rock, Glynn Turman, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, CCH Pounder, Aml Ameen, Gus Halper, Johnny Ramey and Michael Potts. The biographical drama centers on activist Bayard Rustin who organized 1963’s momentous March on Washington while being forced into the background because of his sexuality. The film is opening in select theaters today and will premiere on November 17 on Netflix.
