David Boman (Moonshot, Wyrm, Please Hold) has provided the original score for the upcoming romantic comedy What Happens Later. The film marks the second directorial effort of actress Meg Ryan and stars Ryan herself and David Duchovny. The movie is based on the play Shooting Star by Steven Dietz and follows two ex-lovers who are reunited for the first time since their split decades prior when they both find themselves snowed in at an airport overnight. Ryan and Dietz also co-wrote the screenplay with novelist Kirk Lynn. Jonathan Duffy & Kelly Williams (Sorry to Bother You, 6 Years) are producing the project for Ten Acre Films, alongside Laura D. Smith (It Follows, I’ll See You in My Dreams) and Kristin Mann (The Quarry, To the Stars). What Happens Later will be released in U.S. theaters on October 13, 2023 by Bleecker Street.
