Leo Birenberg & Zach Robinson (Cobra Kai, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Twisted Metal, Florida Man, Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin) are scoring the upcoming Netflix original series Obliterated. The show is created by Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg (Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle) and Josh Heald (Hot Tub Time Machine) and stars Shelley Hennig, Nick Zano, C. Thomas Howell, Paola Lázaro, Kimi Rutledge, Terrence Terrell, Eugene Kim and Alyson Gorske. The action comedy follows a special forces team who – after a night of partying in Vegas – discovers that a bomb they deactivated was a fake and have to fight through their impairments to find the real bomb and save the world. Hurwitz, Schlossberg & Heald are also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Dina Hillier (Plan B). Birenberg & Robinson have previously collaborated with the creators on Netflix’s Cobra Kai, which is expected to return for a sixth and final season in 2024. Obliterated will premiere on November 30, 2023 on Netflix.
Birenberg’s other recent projects include Emma Seligman’s Bottoms (co-scored with Charli XCX), which just opened in select theaters last weekend and will expanding nationwide this Friday, September 1. Robinson has recently scored the Netflix docuseries Wrestlers, which will premiere on September 13.
