Hans Zimmer has composed the original music for the upcoming sci-fi action thriller The Creator. The film is directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and stars John David Washington, Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, Sturgill Simpson, Madeleine Yuna Voyles and Allison Janney. The movie is set amid a future war between the human race and the forces of AI and follows an x-special forces agent grieving the disappearance of his wife who is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator, the elusive architect of advanced AI who has developed a mysterious weapon with the power to end the war. Edwards also co-wrote the screenplay Chris Weitz (About a Boy, American Pie), based on a story by himself. He is also producing the project with Kiri Hart, Jim Spencer and Arnon Milchan (Birdman, The Revenant, 12 Years a Slave). The Creator is set to be released in theaters nationwide on September 29, 2023 by 20th Century Studios.
Also coming up for Zimmer is Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two (to be released in theaters on November 3).
