Over the last week, Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek, The Chronicles of Narnia, The MartianMulanMan on FireKingdom of Heaven) has been recording his score for the upcoming stop-motion animated sequel Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. The film is directed by Sam Fell (ParaNorman, The Tale of Despereaux) and features the voice talent of Thandiwe Newton, Zachary Levi, Imelda Staunton, Bella Ramsey, Lynn Ferguson, David Bradley, Romesh Ranganathan, Jane Horrocks, Daniel Mays, Josie Sedgwick-Davies and Nick Mohammed. Karey Kirkpatrick (Over the Hedge, Smallfoot) & John O’Farrell and Rachel Tunnard (Military Wives) wrote the screenplay based on a story by Kirkpatrick & O’Farrell. Steve Pegram, Leyla Hobar are producing the Aardman Animations production. Peter Lord & Nick Park (who helmed the 2000 original movie) serve as executive producers. Gregson-Williams (who is recording his score in London) has previously co-composed the music for the first Chicken Run movie (with John Powell) and also scored several other features for Aardman, including Flushed Away, Arthur Christmas and Early Man (with Tom Howe). Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget will premiere this fall on Netflix.

Also coming up for Gregson-Williams is Ben Wheatley’s Meg 2: The Trench (to be released in theaters on August 4), Nimrod Antal’s Retribution, as well the second season of HBO’s The Gilded Age (co-scored with Rupert Gregson-Williams)
