Composer Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Emancipation, Wonder, The Good Shepherd, The Affair, Ray Donovan) is reuniting with director Todd Haynes (Far from Heaven, Carol) on the upcoming drama May December. The film starring Natalie Portman, Julianne Moore, Charles Melton, Elizabeth Yu, Piper Curda & Gabriel Chung revolves around a married couple who have been involved in a notorious tabloid romance that gripped the nation twenty years ago, when an actress arrives to do research for a film about their past. Samy Burch wrote the screenplay. Portman is also producing the project with Sophie Mas (Angel City), Grant S. Johnson (Nighthawks), Tyler W. Konney (Black Water), Killer Films’ Christine Vachon & Pamela Koffler (First Reformed, Zola) and Will Ferrell & Jessica Elbaum (Booksmart, Hustlers). Zarvos has previously scored Haynes’ last narrative feature, Dark Waters. May December is premiering this week at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

Zarvos also has Antoine Fuqua’s The Equalizer 3 coming up. He also recently scored Calmatic’s White Men Can’t Jump remake, which will premiere this Friday, May 19 on Hulu and Eva Longoria’s Flamin’ Hot, which is set to debut on June 9 on Hulu.
