Oliver Coates (Aftersun, The Stranger, Significant Other) has composed the original music for the upcoming documentary Occupied City. The film directed and produced by Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave, Shame, Widows) is informed by the book Atlas of an Occupied City (Amsterdam 1940-1945) written by Bianca Stigter and tells a story of life under Nazi occupation in Amsterdam during World War II in the early 1940s. Stitger wrote the text for the movie and is also co-producing the A24 and New Regency production. Occupied City is premiering this week at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. No release date has been announced yet.
