Leo Birenberg & Zach Robinson (Cobra Kai, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Florida Man, Die Hart) have been tapped to score the upcoming Peacock original series Twisted Metal. The show is written by Michael Jonathan Smith based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland) and stars Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Will Arnett and Joe Seanoa. The action comedy is based on the classic PlayStation game series of the same title about a motor-mouthed outsider who is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Smith, Reese, Wernick, Mackie & Arnett are also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions and Universal Television production with Electric Avenue’s Marc Forman (Murderville), Jason Spire (Operation Finale, Outside the Wire), Peter Principato (Central Intelligence, Keanu), Asad Qizilbash & Carter Swan (The Last of Us) and Hermen Hulst. Twisted Metal will premiere on July 27, 2023 on Peacock.
Birenberg & Robinson also continue to score Netflix’s Cobra Kai, which will return for a sixth and final season and Peacock’s Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, which will return for a second season.
