Marco Beltrami (A Quiet PlaceLoganScream, 3:10 to Yuma, The Hurt Locker, Ford v. FerrariThe Wolverine) has revealed during a recent interview on Film Music Live that he is teaming up with Anna Drubich (Barbarian, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Fear Street 3: 1966) to score the upcoming John Wick spinoff feature Ballerina. The film is directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld, Total Recall) and stars Ana de Armas, Anjelica Huston, Lance Reddick, Gabriel Byrne, Norman Reedus, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Ian McShane, as well as Keanu Reeves. The action thriller follows the titular assassin (first introduced in the third John Wick installment) trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma as she sets out to avenge her family. Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead, Day Shift) wrote the screenplay based on characters created by Derek Kolstad. Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk (Sicario, The Town) & Erica Lee (Bruised, The Contractor) are producing the project with John Wick director Chad Stahelski. Beltrami has previously collaborated with Wiseman on 2006’s Underworld: Evolution and 2007’s Live Free or Die Hard. Ballerina is set to be released in theaters nationwide on June 7, 2024 by Lionsgate.

Beltrami’s recent projects include Chris McKay’s Renfield, which just opened in theaters this past weekend, as well as John Woo’s Silent Night, which is expected to be released later this year.
