Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the comedy drama Magic Mike’s Last Dance directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Channing Tatum, Salma Hayek, Ayub Khan Din, Jemelia George, Juliette Motamed and Vicki Pepperdine. The movie doesn’t feature an original score. Season Kent is the film’s music supervisor. Keep Cool & RCA Records have released the song Careful co-written and performed by Lucky Daye today. Opening in select theaters today is the horror thriller Consecration co-written and directed by Christopher Smith and starring Jena Malone, Danny Huston, Thoren Ferguson, Will Keen and Janet Suzma. Nathan Halpern (The Rider, Emily the Criminal, Watcher, Swallow, Minding the Gap) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a woman who goes to the Mount Saviour Convent in Scotland to find out what happened to her priest brother after he died, is being released by IFC Films.
Also opening in select theaters is the supernatural horror comedy She Came from the Woods co-written and directed by Erik Bloomquist and starring Cara Buono, Clare Foley, Spencer List, William Sadler and Michael Park. The film’s original music composed by Timothy Williams (Pearl, Brightburn, Finding You, Wild Horses, We Summon the Darkness). No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie, which is set in 1987 and revolves around a group of counselors who accidentally unleash a decades-old evil on the last night of summer camp, is being distributed by Mainframe Pictures.
Opening in select theaters today before premiering on Apple TV+ next Friday, February 17, is the psychological thriller Sharper directed by Benjamin Caron and starring Julianne Moore, Sebastian Stan, Briana Middleton, Justice Smith and John Lithgow. Clint Mansell (Black Swan, Noah, Requiem for a Dream, Moon, The Fountain, Stoker, Rebecca) has composed the film’s original music. Opening in a single theater while also premiering on Netflix today is the romantic comedy Your Place or Mine written and directed by Aline Brosh McKenna and starring Reese Witherspoon, Ashton Kutcher, Jesse Williams, Wesley Kimmel, Zoë Chao, Tig Notaro, Steve Zahn and Vella Lovell. The film’s original music is composed by Siddhartha Khosla (Only Murders in the Building, This Is Us, Runaways, Looking for Alaska, Queenpins). Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score and a song performed by Tiny Habits today.
