Opening in New York and Los Angeles today before expanding nationwide on January 13 is the comedy drama A Man Called Otto directed by Marc Forster and starring Tom Hanks, Mariana Treviño, Rachel Keller and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. The film’s original score is composed by Thomas Newman (The Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty, 1917, Finding Nemo, Skyfall, Wall-E). Mercury Classics Soundtracks & Score has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as an original song performed by Rita Wilson & Sebastián Yatra today. Opening in select theaters today before expanding nationwide on January 20 is the dramatic thriller Alice, Darling directed by Mary Nighy and starring Anna Kendrick, Wunmi Mosaku, Kaniethiio Horn and Charlie Carrick. Owen Pallett (Her, Life, The Box, Spaceship Earth, On the Count of Three) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. Already playing in select U.S. theater since this past Monday (New York) and Wednesday (Los Angeles) is the South Korean drama Broker written and directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda and starring Song Kang Ho, Doona Bae, Gang Dong Won, Lee Ji Eun and Lee Joo Young. The film’s original music is composed by Jaeil Jung (Parasite, Squid Game, Okja, Take Point). CJ ENM has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this year when the movie opened in Korea.
