Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, Ray Donovan, The Affair, The Good Shepherd, Enough Said) is scoring the upcoming biographical drama Flamin’ Hot. The film marks the feature directorial debut of actress/producer Eva Longoria and stars Jesse Garcia, Annie Gonzalez, Emilio Rivera, Dennis Haysbert, Tony Shalhoub, Pepe Serna, Matt Walsh, Bobby Soto, Jimmy Gonzales and Brice Gonzalez. The movie tells the true story of Richard Montanez, the Frito Lay janitor who took inspiration from his Mexican American heritage to create the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos snack. DeVon Franklin (Miracles from Heaven) is producing the project through his Franklin Entertainment production company. Zarvos has previously scored the Franklin-produced 2019 drama Breakthrough for Fox 2000 Pictures. Flamin’ Hot will be released next year by Searchlight Pictures.
Zarvos’ other recent projects also include Antoine Fuqua’s Emancipation, which is opening in select theaters this Friday, December 2 before premiering on December 9 on Apple TV+.
