Composer Michael Abels (Get Out, Nope, Us, Breaking, Allen v. Farrow, Nightbooks) is reuniting with director Cory Finley on the upcoming sci-fi film Landscape with Invisible Hand. The movie starring Tiffany Haddish, Asante Blackk, Kylie Rogers, William Jackson Harper, Michael Gandolfini, Clifton Collins Jr., Josh Hamilton and Brooklynn MacKinzie is based on M.T. Anderson’s National Book Award-winning novel and revolves around two teenagers who have to come up with a plan to save their family when Earth is taken over by an alien race that controls the economy. Finley (Thoroughbreds) also wrote the screenplay. Dede Gardner & Jeremy Kleiner (12 Years a Slave, Moonlight) are producing the project for Plan B Entertainment, alongside Megan Ellison (Her, The Master) and Sue Naegle (Pam & Tommy, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs) for Annapurna Pictures. Abels has previously scored Finley’s last feature, Bad Education. Landscape with Invisible Hand is expected to be released in theaters next year by United Artists.
