Jonny Greenwood was named Film Composer of the Year at the 22nd World Soundtrack Awards, tonight’s closing event of the 49th Ghent Film Festival, for his scores for Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog and Pablo Larrain’s Spencer. Nicholas Britell was honored as TV Composer of the Year today for his score for the third season of the HBO original series Succession. He previously won the award in the same category in 2020 and also won Film Composer of the Year in 2019, Discovery of the Year in 2017 and for Best Original Song in 2021. Billie Eilish & Finneas O’Connell won the award in the Best Original Song category for the title song from the James Bond film No Time to Die, for which they previously received the Academy Award and Grammy Award. The Public Choice Award went to the score of The King’s Daughter composed by Joseph Metcalfe, John Coda and Grant Kirkhope. Eiko Ishibashi was honored in the Discovery of the Year category for her score for the Academy Award-nominated Japanese feature Drive My Car. In addition, the SABAM Award for Best Young Composer went to Giacomo Rita and The Penelopes won the award in the Best Original Score for a Belgian Production category for SpaceBoy. As previously announced, French composer Bruno Coulais received the Lifetime Achievement Award
