La-La Land Records has announced a reissue of the restored and remastered soundtrack album for Steven Spielberg’s 1982 classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial starring Henry Thomas, Drew Barrymore and Dee Wallace. The album release, which coincides with the movie’s 40th Anniversary and the theatrical re-release in select IMAX theaters this coming weekend, features the original music from the Universal Studios and Amblin Entertainment production composed by Academy Award winner John Williams (Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) and includes the same content as the label’s 35th Anniversary Edition from 2017. Visit the label’s official website for more information and to order the 2-CD set, which is limited to 5,000 copies. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.
The label is also releasing a new (45th Anniversary) reissue of the remastered soundtrack album for Spielberg’s sci-fi classic Close Encounters of the Third Kind (first released back in 2017).
