Fil Eisler (Revenge, Empire, UnReal, How to Be Single, The Titan, ChiPs, Proud Mary) is the composer of the new Netflix original series God’s Favorite Idiot. The show is created by Ben Falcone (The Boss, Tammy) and stars Melissa McCarthy, Falcone himself, Leslie Bibb, Usman Ally, Chris Sandiford, Ana Scotney, Kevin Dunn, Yanic Truesdale, Steve Mallory, Leon Ford and Magda Szubanski. The comedy revolves around a mid level tech support employee who finds love with a co-worker at exactly the same time he becomes the unwitting messenger of God. Falcone & McCarthy are also executive producing the project with Michael McDonald (Nobodies) who also directed the series. Eisler has previously scored the Falcone-directed and McCarthy-starring features Life of the Party, Superintelligence and Thunder Force. God’s Favorite Idiot will premiere this Wednesday, June 15 exclusively on Netflix.
The composer also continues to score Netflix’s Outer Banks, which has been renewed for a third season, and co-score Disney+’s Big Shot, which will return for a second season. His upcoming feature projects include Chris Nelson’s Reunion and Christian Ditter’s The Present.
