Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, The Kominsky Method, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, CSI :Miami, Just Friends, Turner & Hooch) is the composer of the upcoming Netflix original film Players. The movie is directed by Trish Sie (Pitch Perfect 3, The Sleepover) and stars Gina Rodriguez, Tom Ellis, Damon Wayans Jr., Liza Koshy, Joel Courtney and Augustus Prew. The romantic comedy follows a Chicago sportswriter who has spent years devising successful hook-up “plays”, when she unexpectedly becomes infatuated with one of her targets and is forced to confront the idea of a true relationship. Whit Anderson wrote the screenplay. Marc Platt (La La Land, Bridge of Spies) and Ryan Christians are producing the project with Campfire’s Ross Dinerstein (Clinical, Heaven’s Gate: The Cult of Cults). Players will premiere this year on Netflix.
Cardoni also continues to score CBS’ Ghosts & Young Sheldon, Starz’s Heels and NBC’s American Auto, all of which have recently been renewed for new seasons. His other recent film projects include Marcel Sarmiento’s drama The Royal, which will be released in select theaters and on VOD on July 15 by Samuel Goldwyn Films (check out the just released trailer below).
