Jeff Morrow (Science Fair, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, Ibiza, Mucho Mucho Amor: The Legend of Walter Mercado, Trolls Holiday) has composed the original score for the new HBO documentary George Carlin’s American Dream. The show is directed by Judd Apatow (The 40-Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up) & Michael Bonfiglio (May It Last: A Portrait of the Avett Brothers) and chronicles the life and work of legendary comedian George Carlin. The 2-parter tracks Carlin’s rise to fame and features interviews with Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Patton Oswalt, Stephen Colbert, Bette Midler, Bill Burr, Jon Stewart, among others. Apatow and Bonfiglio are also executive producing the project with Teddy Leifer (Dreamcatcher, The Human Factor), Jerry Hamza, Kelly Carlin and Lisa Heller & Nancy Abraham (Allen v. Farrow, McMillions). Morrow has previously scored the Bonfiglio-directed documentary Who Are You, Charlie Brown?. George Carlin’s American Dream will premiere this Friday, May 20 on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
Morrow also continues to score Apple TV+’s The Snoopy Show, which will return with new episodes this summer. The composer’s other recent projects include the true crime documentary American Pain directed by Darren Foster. The movie, which tells the story of twin brothers and bodybuilders Chris and Jeff George, who operated a franchise of pain clinics in Florida where they handed out pain pills like candy, will premiere next month at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival and has been picked up by CNN Films and HBO Max for a release in 2023.
