Raphael Saadiq (Insecure, The After Party) & Laure Karpman (What If…?, Set It Up, Paris Can Wait, Why We Hate) are teaming up to co-score the upcoming AMC original series 61st Street. The show is created by Peter Moffat (The Night Of, Your Honor) and stars Courtney B. Vance, Aunjanue Ellis, Mark O’Brien, Holt McCallany, Andrene Ward-Hammond, Tosin Cole and Bentley Green. The thriller examines the infamous Chicago criminal justice system as police and prosecutors investigate a deadly drug bust that threatens to unravel the police department’s code of silence. Moffat is also executive producing the project with Michael B. Jordan, Elizabeth Raposo, J. David Shanks, Alana Mayo, Jeff Freilich (Dispatches from Elsewhere, Lodge 49) and Hilary Salmon (MotherFatherSon, We Hunt Together). Karpman & Saadiq have previously co-scored numerous shows and films, including HBO’s Lovecraft Country, WGN American’s Underground, the feature Black Nativity, the first season of L.A.’s Finest and the documentary Step. 61st Street will premiere on April 10, 2022 on AMC and will also be available to stream on AMC+ and ALLBLK.
