Tamar-kali (Mudbound, Shirley, The Assistant, Palmer, Come Sunday, The Lie) has composed the original score for the new Netflix original film Mixtape. The movie is directed by Valerie Weiss (The Archer, Losing Control) and stars Gemma Brooke Allen, Audrey Hsieh, Olga Petsa, Julie Bowen, Jackson Rathbone and Nick Thune. The coming-of-age drama is set in 1999 and follows a 12-year old girl who discovers a broken mixtape made by her late parents and sets out to find the songs – and learn more about her mom and dad. Stacey Menear (The Boy) wrote the screenplay. Gil Netter (Life of Pi, The Blind Side, Marley & Me) and Jim Wedaa (Unstoppable) are producing the project. Morgan Rhodes serves as the music supervisor. Mixtape will premiere on December 3, 2021 exclusively on Netflix.
