Roy Mayorga, drummer of Ministry, Hellyeah and Stone Sour, has announced that he has composed the original score for the upcoming horror comedy Studio 666. John Carpenter (Halloween, Assault on Precint 13, The Fog) has written the theme song for the the film, which is directed by BJ McDonnell (Slayer: The Repentless Killogy, Hatched III) and stars all six members of the Foo Fighters (Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett & Rami Jaffee), as well as Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega and Jeff Garlin. The movie follows the Foo Fighters as they move into a haunted San Fernando Valley mansion to record 2021’s Medicine at Midnight, when they find themselves grappling with supernatural forces that threaten both the completion of the album and the lives of the band. Jeff Buhler (Pet Sematary, Nightflyers) and Rebecca Hughes wrote the screenplay based on a story by Grohl. John Ramsay and James A. Rota (What Drives Us) are producing the Roswell Films and Therapy Studios production. Mayorga has previously scored his first feature, Nanny Cam, which was released in 2014. Studio 666 will open in theaters nationwide on February 25, 2022 by Open Road Films.
