James S. Levine (Glee, Nip/Tuck, Damages, American Horror Story, Star, Bloodline, Rizzoli & Isles) is scoring the new NBC drama La Brea. The show is created by David Appelbaum and stars Natalie Zea, Eoin Macken, Jon Seda, Nicholas Gonzalez, Karina Logue, Chiké Okonkwo, Zyra Gorecki, Veronica St. Clair, Jack Martin, Rohan Mirchandaney, Josh McKenzie, Lily Santiago and Chloe De Los Santos. The series centers on a family who is torn apart after a massive sinkhole opens in the middle of Los Angeles, pulling hundreds of people and buildings into its depths, and has to unlock the secrets of this inexplicable event to find a way back to each other. Appelbaum is also executive producing the Universal Television production with Avi Nir (Homeland, Tyrant), Alon Shtruzman & Rachel Kaplan (Wisdom of the Crowd), Peter Traugott (Samantha Who), Steven Lilien & Bryan Wynbrandt (God Friended Me), Ken Woodruff (Gotham), Arika Lisanne Mittman (Timeless) and Adam Davidson (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) who also directed the first episode.
