Rolfe Kent (Sideways, About Schmidt, Wedding Crashers, Election, Up in the Air, Mean Girls, Freaky Friday) has recently scored the upcoming comedy Vacation Friends. The film is directed by Clay Tarver (Silicon Valley, Joy Ride) and stars John Cena, Lil Rel Howery, Yvonne Orji, Meredith Hagner, Robert Wisdom, Andrew Bachelor and Lynn Whitfield. The movie follows a straight-laced couple that has fun with a rowdy couple on vacation in Mexico and later discover that the crazy couple they met in Mexico followed them back home to the United States. Tarver also co-wrote the screenplay with Tom Mullen & Tim Mullen and Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley (Game Night, Horrible Bosses). Todd Garner (Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Mortal Kombat) and Timothy M. Bourne (Drumline) are producing the 20th Century Studios production. Vacation Friends will premiere on August 27, 2021 exclusively on Hulu.
As previously reported, Kent also has the Netflix film He’s All That (premiering on the same day) coming up.
