Varese Sarabande has announced the latest titles in its CD Club series, including a deluxe edition soundtrack for the 2009 sci-fi thriller Knowing directed by Alex Proyas and starring Nicolas Cage, Rose Byrne and Chandler Canterbury. The album features the expanded original score from the movie composed by Academy Award nominee Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Scream, A Quiet Place, The Hurt Locker, Logan, The Wolverine, Ford v. Ferrari), including around 50 minutes of previously unreleased music. The 2-CD set is limited to 1,500 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. The original soundtrack for the movie was released digitally and physically in 2009. Knowing is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.
The label has also announced a deluxe edition album for the 1987 adventure drama Lionheart directed by Franklin J. Schaffner and starring Eric Stoltz and Gabriel Byrne. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, L.A. Confidential, Alien, Planet of the Apes, Chinatown, Basic Instinct) and performed by the Hungarian State Symphony Orchestra, including two previously unreleased cues as bonus tracks.
