Amie Doherty (Happiest Season, Undone, The High Note, Battle at Big Rock, Here and Now) has been hired to score the upcoming Netflix animated series Blue Eye Samurai. The show is created by Michael Green (Logan, Blade Runner 2049) & Amber Noizumi and features the voices of Maya Erskine, George Takei, Masi Oka, Randall Park, Brenda Song, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa and Darren Barnet. The series follows a mixed-race master of the sword who lives a life in disguise while seeking revenge in Edo-period Japan. Green and Noizumi are also executive producing the project with Erwin Stoff (Edge of Tomorrow, Unbroken). Jane Wu serves as the supervising director and a producer. No premiere date has been announced yet for Blue Eye Samurai.
Doherty also has DreamWorks Animation’s feature Spirit Untamed (to be released in theaters on June 4, 2021 by Universal Pictures) coming up. The composer is also expected to return to score the second season of Amazon’s animated show Undone.
