Ruth Barrett (Bodyguard, Collateral, Harry Brown, Victoria, Sanditon) has recently scored the new BBC series Bloodlands. The show is created by Chris Brandon and stars James Nesbitt, Lisa Dwan, Lorcan Cranitch, Charlene McKenna, Ian McElhinney, Lola Petticrew and Chris Walley. The 4-part crime thriller is directed by Pete Travis (Dredd, Vantage Point) and revolves around a detective who is forced to grapple with his past when he is sent on the hunt for a mythical assassin. Jed Mercurio (Line of Duty, Critical), Jimmy Mulville (Flack, Episodes) and Mark Redhead (Bloody Sunday, The Secret) are producing the project for HTM Television production. Bloodlands will premiere in the UK this Sunday, February 19 on BBC One and will debut in the U.S. on March 15 on Acorn TV.
Barrett’s other recent projects include ITV’s The Sister, which premiered in the U.S. last month on Hulu.
