Jessica Weiss (Friendsgiving, Trouble) and Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Onward, Capote) have teamed up to score the upcoming new film adaptation of Cinderella. The movie is written and directed by Kay Cannon (Blockers, Pitch Perfect series) and stars Camila Cabello, Billy Porter, Idina Menzel, Nicholas Galitzine, James Corden, Minnie Driver, John Mulaney, Maddie Baillio, Charlotte Spencer and Pierce Brosnan. The musical comedy reimagines the classic story and centers on the title character as an ambitious young woman whose dreams are bigger than the world will allow. Corden is also producing the project with Leo Pearlman (I Am Bolt), Jonathan Kadin and Shannon McIntosh (Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood). Cinderella is currently scheduled to be released in theaters nationwide on July 16, 2021 by Sony Pictures.
