Disney announced today that Pinar Toprak (Captain Marvel, Krypton, Fortnite, McMillions, The Angel) has composed the original music for the upcoming Disney animated short Us Again. The film directed by Zach Parrish is set in a vibrant city pulsating with rhythm and movement, and follows an elderly man and his young-at-heart wife rekindle their youthful passion for life and each other on one magical night. The movie, which is told entirely without dialogue and set to an original funk and soul musical score reminiscent of the mid-60s, features choreography by dancers Keone and Mari. Brad Simonsen (Big Hero 6, Zootopia) is producing the project and Walt Disney Animation Studios chief creative officer Jennifer Lee serve as the executive producer. Toprak has previously scored the Pixar/SparkShorts animated short Purl. Us Again will debut in theaters in front of the studios’ feature Raya and the Last Dragon on March 5, 2021 and is set to premiere on Disney+ in June.
Toprak also continues to score Stargirl, which will return for its second season later this year.
